Let the FUN-draising begin!

SAWASDEE KA!

As you have now heard, we are moving to Thailand in June to join ZOE International in the fight against child trafficking. We will be full-time missionaries, and must raise support for ZOE, which they in turn will give us a paycheck. We are starting to fundraise now. We will not start receiving a paycheck from ZOE until Kenny's job ends on May 1st, but we need to start fundraising, so that there will be some savings to get us to Thailand, and help get things started when we arrive. Such as renting a house, buying a car, furnishing our home, and all that exciting and crazy stuff =)

Many of you have asked how you can help. There are quite a few ways! As the new year is around the corner, we would ask you to consider picking ZOE International as the non-profit that you support this year. The work they are doing is incredible. You will get to see it first hand as we will stay closely connected to the team!

1. Become a monthly supporter! www.gozoe.org/besks
All donations are tax-deductible. All you do is click on the link and fill out the form. They even accept PayPal. We would love to have you on the team! You will be directly fighting child trafficking each month!

2. Give a one time donation. www.gozoe.org/besks This is such a blessing! It will help get things started upon our arrival. You are just as much a part of the team when you give once. You can always come back, and give as you feel led to do so. ;)

3. Sign up to be a host or hostess of a dessert night, BBQ, potluck, whatever you choose, at your house! Invite your friends over, and we will come and share about the fight against child trafficking. This will help us raise awareness and raise up support. We can come and share at your church, your business, a women's group, anywhere! Please message me, catherine@gozoe.org or Kenny, kenny@gozoe.org and we will come and share all about what ZOE is doing, and how you and your friends can get involved. We promise not to be long-winded!

4. Share our Facebook page on your wall! This gets the word out, and helps so much! https://www.facebook.com/beskfamily
Just copy the link and post it on your wall, it's as simple as that! =) Don't forget to "LIKE" our family page as well.

5. Join our prayer team! We need lots of prayer! This is a huge step for us, and it is so exciting, but also all of the unknowns are scary, and at times overwhelming. Please e-mail me, catherine@gozoe.org if you would like to be on our prayer team.

Thank you so much for helping! We are so excited to see children rescued, and be there to help them heal.

FAQs (or at least ?s we think you might be wondering about)

*You are not leaving until June, why are you fundraising now?
-We need to build a core team before we leave. People whom we know are going to be with us through the long haul.

*How much money are you supposed to raise monthly?
$6500 (before taxes)

*Why so much? I thought Thailand was cheap
I have a sample budget for a family of 4, for living on $5200 a month. Since we are family of 5, it is a bit more. Living in Thailand IS cheaper. It's the taxes and insurance that add up, and we still have to pay those =) If you would like to see the breakdown of the budget, please e-mail me, and I'd be more than happy to send it to you. catherine@gozoe.org

*How long will you be gone?
We don't know. We have committed to 2 years with ZOE, but we imagine it will be much longer. We will reevaluate in 2 years, but as long as God is asking us to go, we hope to stay. So the answer is indefinitely, for now.

*Why Thailand? Why not help in the US?
This is where God is calling us. This is where our hearts have been broken to go and help.

*How are you preparing yourselves for this big move?
-Reading our Bible each day.
-Praying. We could not do any of this without God's guidance and help.
-Learning about Thai culture.
-We are saving money. We are moving in with my parents in a week and a half, so instead of paying rent, that money will go directly into our savings' account. We will save our tax-refund, and at the very end, we will sell our cars. We are so humbled that people want to support the works of ZOE, and we want to show our respect by living frugally and gratefully. We have already sold our couch, our bed frame, our dining room table and chairs, our rug, and are whittling down as best we can.

*What exactly does ZOE do?

*If you have FAQs about ZOE, here is a link to their FAQ page. It is super helpful.

You all are the best! We already feel your love and support!
