We just bought a DONKEY and we live in a townhome!

No really, we just bought a donkey! I'm not kidding! The kids have already named it, "Eeyore." This Christmas we've been searching for something outside of the ordinary to help and serve others. We want our lives to be transformed by this adoption, and have us looking at ALL things in a different manner. So, we decided to buy a donkey for some incredible women in Ethiopia. You would not believe what these women are capable of doing, and what lengths they will go to, so that they can provide for their families.

There are so many exciting and easy ways to help this holiday season. It might take a little sacrifice of money or your time, but it will be so worth it. Ordinary Hero is a non-profit that we love and support, and that's where we purchased our donkey.

"North of Ethiopia in the Entoto Mountain, you will find women, some well into their 60's, who walk up to 12 miles a day, up and down the mountain, carrying loads of wood on their backs. It took two men to lift this heavy burden off the backs of these women. They sell these bundles for what would average to about $3 a day. These women have to work in this way in order to survive and feed their families. It is our joy to offer these women a donkey to carry their heavy load. This donkey will create a way of income for these women without them having to carry the loads on their backs up and down the mountain any longer. Your purchase of this donkey will give these women and their families a lifetime of blessing. They will be passed out to the women by our Ethiopia mission teams."
